Paths of Mount San Salvatore
The Monte San Salvatore offers several paths that can be taken starting from the summit. First of all, however, we need to get to the top. The funicular, located 5 minutes from the railway station of Paradiso and equipped with a convenient parking lot will take you in 12 minutes to the top of the mountain. There is a ride every half hour. From the top it is then possible to go down through different paths. One of the paths leads at first to Carona, and then splits towards to Morcote, Melide, Carabbia and Figino. The other one leads to Pazzallo and Paradiso.
The adventurous can take the path of the “via ferrata”, a climbing path on rocky walls with cables, stairs, iron anchors and nails. Naturally, you need to equip yourself with an adequate equipment and follow the basic rules to guarantee the safety of the climbing.
